About Little Bear’s Kitchen:

It has been a longtime dream of mine to start a blog highlighting my favorite recipes, cooking adventures and all things food-related.  Little Bear’s Kitchen is a site dedicated my love for food and was started in February 2009.

After moving from sharing kitchens with roommates to a small studio “kitchen”, I’m finally at a place that I can call my own.  My husband is only too happy to eat and clean-up afterward, leaving me to the kitchen to experiment, create, and have fun.

Photography is another one of my major hobbies and interests.  Someday, I’d like to take a photography class, but for now, I’m learning by trial and error.  Pictures are taken with my Canon Rebel XTi dSLR and the 18-55mm “kit lens.”

All pictures posted on this site were taken by me and all recipes are my own creation, unless otherwise noted, so if you are using them for anything, please link back to me or credit them appropriately.  Thanks!

About me:

Born and raised in California, I spent most of my life in sunny Southern California, where I grew up and attended college.  Go Bruins!  Five years ago I moved to Northern California to attend grad school.  Little did I know that I would end up settling down here and never move back “home” to LA.  My passion for cooking has followed me into the newest chapter in my life as I married my hubby in 2008.  In fact, one of my favorite pastimes is whipping up delicious meals for my husband and our friends.

My favorite cuisines include Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Italian.  I hate mushrooms with a passion and have only cooked with them once in my life.  It was a disaster as I had no idea  what they would taste like (unwilling to taste-test)n and didn’t know how to cook them.  😉

Lastly, my blog is named in memory of my dear dog, Bear, who loved to eat anything and everything.

Hi Timothy…thanks for your comment! Thats a good question…I guess my inspiration comes from my stomach (I cook whatever I’m in the mood for!), the beautiful pictures in my cookbooks, and of course, online food blogs. Tastespotting.com is one of my fav websites and a major source of inspiration. 🙂

Hi Karen! Thank you for your sweet comment. I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I usually shoot with the kit lens (18-55mm). I’ve been into photography for years, but have only lately gotten behind the camera (as opposed to just admiring others’ work)…love it! Good photographs are like art and its such a fun creative outlet.

  4. Really enjoyed your account of your 2009 visit to New York – picked up a few tips and insights! The photos were great too.
    Cheers
